Hi Ryssee. It was a wild time to come to American culture. Up until then, all I knew about America was Dynasty (we got it in Haiti, but it was dubbed in French) and Michael Jackson! I'm glad we came here though. I'm an American through and through.

She looks great! I wanted to look like that then and I want to look like that now. I like to see the return of the best of the styles from then. Love the colors and prints and a peep of neon when I see it now. Jeepers it's been 25 years since I wore clothes like that. LOL. Good Lord I sure hope the perms and padded shoulders don't come back though.
You moved here the year I graduated High School. What a wild time to come into American culture.

I think the 80's were bad ass! I once heard Tommy Hillfilger say that he thought this was the worst era for fashion, but I actually think what we're seeing today has a hint of the 80's – the boldness, the colors, etc.

Martini, my memories of the '80's are mostly of high school angst. Thank you for reminding me it doesn't have to be that way. I enjoy your blog!
