Double-breasted Coat

Oh, winter! As I write this, I sigh. My husband is a transplant to Boston by way of Australia. He loves his life here and most importantly, the man loves winter. No, see, he loves ALL things about winter.

In November he can be heard complaining, “Why hasn’t it snowed?!” I always look at him like he’s crazy. (Did I mention I’m originally from the Caribbean?) He likes to make plans for us to go skiing. To go for long walks right around our neighborhood in the very early morning after a storm so that we can be the first ones to leave foot prints in the virgin snow. He’s super excited to dig our cars out and shovel the front yard…Ok, I don’t mind having him shovel cars out. He does get a kick out of the snow-related parking etiquette we have hear in Boston…despite the mayor’s decrees.

And I? Do I like winter? Ummm….sure. I’ve lived in Boston for the past twenty years. So, I don’t mind winter. In preparing for the season, one thing’s for sure, it’s about a fabulous coat, boots and bag. Why? Well, because half the time, people aren’t going to see what you’re wearing under a coat. Admit it, it gets so cold at times that we all rush from one location to another.

In the case of this picture, a double-breasted coat with a faux-fur collar and an equally bright bag (and hair color) is the way to go.
