I ran into Toni last week.  I’ve been in browns, blacks or cream this winter.  Earth tones are attracting me quite a bit this year.  I forgot to ask Toni about her Love ring.  Here’s one that is similar.

In my mind, green goes with everything.  Yup, green is a neutral in Tini land.  After all, green leaves never clash with the blush pink of peonies or with nearly midnight colored tulips.  The only issue is when green is paired with red.  Green and red tend to remind me of the holidays (though this photo from the Sartorialist is an example or red and green done right).  But green and mauve!  Now, there’s a combination I’m going to have to try.

It’s Friday!!?!! Whoo HOOOoooo!  Now, I’m not super duper excited because the weekend follows Friday. Nope. I’m excited because in just a few days I head off to Australia.  Yes, Australia the land of excellent coffee, Tim Tams, Ayers Rock/Uluru, Vegeta* and every word being shortened or ending in “y.”

Exhibit A – Word ending in “Y”:  breakfast=brekky or toast=toasty as in “Would you like some toasty for brekky?”

Exhibit B – Word shortened: uncoordinated=unco as in “Look at that girl trying to follow the moves in our Zumba class.  She’s so unco.”

Exhibit C – Again word ending in “Y”: best=besty as in I write an email to a friend but instead of signing off “Best, Martini-beanie” I write “Besty, Martini-beanie-bobini.”

The Australians are awesome though. I truly excited about this trip.  More from Down Unda (notice Under has been shortened to “Unda.”  Obviously, my Australian Honey has started to influenced my speech).

*Tim Tams are the most deeeliscious biscuits/cookies ever.  Ayers Rock aka Uluru, well y’all know about that.  Vegeta is a Croatian spice (Ok, so not Australian), but it’s widely used, as I understand, in Australian cooking.  We have a big ole canister of it in our pantry. Happy Friday!

**Oh, in regards to the title of the post, it’s fall here in the US and will be Spring in Australia when I get there…not to clever, but oooh well.

I’m home!  Whoo hoo!  It’s always nice being away, but nothing beats a home cooked meal and my very comfy bed. It feels nice however to have brought the Paris heat wave with us to Boston.  I spent Sunday with my cousins.  After brunch, we stopped by Darwin’s on Mount Auburn Street for coffee.  This is where we ran into Ann Marie who was wearing this flowy dress she bought at LF (presumably from the LF in Harvard Square).

My mother and I have verrrry different tastes in fashion. She’s more reserved in her dress, but often brings out her inner wild child. Think Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis meets Alexis from Dynasty. Here’s my mother.

“Oh! Did you see that girl! Wait, why are you taking pictures of her? You’re not going to put that picture on that blog are you?”

“Well, It’s an interesting outfit, ” I said.

“She has holes in her shirt! Why would anyone wear a shirt that has holes in it? Outside. And in daylight nonetheless. Was she hot? Is that why she needed built in AC.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. Not out loud, of course. I couldn’t show her how funny she was being. And so I simply said. “Everyone dresses differently.”

Of course, she didn’t answer. She did harrumph though.

Slightly rumpled and running to class. With the weather being hot and cool all at the same time here, sometimes one does need an over-sized sweater to keep warm.

I have my camera with me these days again! Excited to be style hunting again.  The next few days should be a load of fun as Boston Fashion Week gets underway on Friday.  WCVB’s Chronicle will have a whole segment on Boston Fashion Week and the fashion scene here in Boston.  If you can check it out!  Yours truly will be interviewed on the show.  In the meantime, happy Wednesday.

The students are back! I ran into Marisa, a sophomore at Harvard College, while having a quick espresso pick me up last week.Welcome to back students!  To the freshman class of 2015, welcome to Boston.  Just remember to invest in long underwear for those cooooold winter days.

Hmm….I’m noticing that I’ve been posting a lot of navy blue on the blog.  I may have a new favorite color!
