It’s Hilken of 40 South Street in Jamaica Plain.  A few weeks ago, we ran into Hilken while having breakfast at City Feed in Jamaica Plain, which is fast becoming my favorite place for breakfast and vintage shopping.    You’ve got 40 South Street and Dame (my favorites), and several other wonderful shops on Centre Street to enjoy. This weekend, we had breakfast at Center Street Cafe (sooo delicious!) and then walked to Salmagundi to consider some proper stetsons for both my sister and myself.  Man, how I love Salmagundi.  It’s hard to walk out of that place without a fabulous accessory.  If you haven’t gone there, I highly recommend it.

Off to bed for me.  It’s been a weekend with a busted phone and no wireless, so I’m looking forward to getting back to the groove of the work week.  Hope you had a great weekend.

There are quite a few vintage shops on Center and South Street in Jamaica Plains, including two of my favorites 40 South Street and Dame.  On Saturday morning, I meandered through these shops and enjoyed picking up a few gifts for loved ones for the holidays.  I have to say though, that the highlight of my day was a warm smile from Miss Emily here in this picture.

It’s T! What a lovely lady, she is!  She seriously dresses well ALL the time.  There was one night where we met up at a party at a friend’s house and hands down she was the best dressed lady in the room.  And the best part of it all, she’s kind and simply….lovely.  I hope you enjoy these pictures of her and her answers to my questions.

It’s Dunstan of Handsome Boy Clothing!  When I ran into him in Jamaica Plain, I thought: Man, I know this guy from somewhere.  Once I saw his back (below) it all made sense.

Stella the curious dog….Center Street, Jamaica Plain

Monday, May 18th, 2009

That Stella is a curious dog. The pretty dress she is sniffing comes from JP Dame. To be fair though, Stella was absolutely lovely, and happened to misbehave just this once.
